Do you have a crawl space? Have you ever been down there? Many homes will have a crawl space or a basement. Some homes have both. Important systems such as the HVAC system, are typically located in either a crawl space or a basement.

Come take a tour with me to see what this looks like in a crawl space. My Tobor Hellcat Robot will show you what a crawl space inspection looks like via a remote control robot.

In this video you will see several things in this crawl space that need some minor repairs, but overall things are in good order. Mainly, there are some items that could be cleaned up to make it easier for man or robot to explore.

Notice the hanging wires and cables on the ground. The cables are from the home owners' Starlink dish. Based on this video, I would make the recommendation to clean them up and get them up off the ground, and remove the other wires that are not in use. There are other items that can be cleaned up as well, however those are of no real concern.

There is a water line (going to the home owners barn), that is no longer in use. You will notice that the water line has a heat trace installed and is not plugged in.

The HVAC system, at the far end, does have a moisture pump installed and working. There are no noticeable concerns here.

All of the tie-downs and the general structure appear to be in good condition.

Like all crawl spaces, there is lots of dust (and the robot is kicking up some of it most likely), but there is a vapor barrier installed and insulation. The skirting looks fine as well (viewed from above ground).

Another note is the insulation on the bottom of the home; there are many areas that have been cut open (probably for maintenance/repairs) or from animals that managed to get into the crawl space and do damage. There are several places of holes in the insulation that are minor defects that will need to be repaired. More insulation along the skirting is recommended as well to keep the crawl space well insulated and to keep heating and cooling costs lower.

All in all, as the video shows, there are no major defects found, but are some minor defects and recommended improvements that should be made such as repairing and adding insulation, and cleaning up loose wires and items that are not in use.
